Jonathan E. Smith was born and raised in Birmingham, AL and it has a special place in his heart. After graduating from Homewood High School in 2012, Jonathan attended Howard University in Washington D.C. In 2016, Jonathan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy. In 2017, Jonathan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a Master of Science Degree in Accountancy.
After graduating from Howard University, Jonathan began working as a Tax Associate at KPMG, a big 4 accounting firm. In his previous role at KPMG, Jonathan worked in the State and Local Tax (SALT) division, which he focused on tax compliance and unique state tax regulation analysis. After two years with the company working in the KPMG Tysons Corner, VA office, Jonathan was promoted to Senior Tax Associate in the Business Tax Services (BTS) division and moved to the Birmingham, AL office. As Senior Tax Associate, Jonathan focused on Partnership Transactions Analysis and Federal and State Tax Compliances.
B. A. T. Solutions, LLC was founded by Jonathan Smith through his passion for his trade and serving others. Jonathan is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity where he served as Vice Basileus and Basileus of the Alpha Chapter. He feels that his background and experience are key in making an impact in his community.
